Congress in talks with allies to pick ministers
India's ruling Congress party was engaged in hard negotiations with its regional allies Trinamool Congress and DMK yesterday to firm up the coalition government as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh takes oath today to begin his second term in office.
Law to be updated for fair trial
Law Minister Shafique Ahmed yesterday said the government has taken initiatives to update the existing International Crimes (Tribunal) Act 1973 for holding trial of war criminals on charge of committing offences against humanities during the liberation war in 1971.
